HARTING celebrates “Ludwig Erhard Prize” success

The 13th Ludwig Erhard Prize in Berlin proved a tremendous success for the HARTING Technology Group.

HARTING Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, the Group’s German sales company, celebrated finishing in an excellent 2nd place, picking up an award. As the 1st prize was not awarded because a minimum points total was not achieved, HARTING Deutschland finished as one of the top two companies in its category (100–500 employees).

After getting through to the final round in October, the award is a fantastic achievement for the company, which took part in the competition for the first time. The Ludwig Erhard Prize Excellence Initiative aims to encourage companies to use integral management systems. The prize is awarded to organizations which implement such systems exceptionally well and excel through sustainable outstanding services and competitiveness. An independent team of assessors from various sectors visits the companies on-site and produces a detailed evaluation report on the basis of interviews.

“By participating we received an objective evaluation and suggestions for new approaches. We face the challenge of global competition every day and embracing potential for improvement is therefore extremely important to us. In total, 80 companies took part in this year’s competition. 21 of these made it through to the selection round and were evaluated by the assessors. HARTING Deutschland, with 129 employees, started as the smallest company in its category. The company scored well in particular on account of its customer focus to secure a top position.

The EFQM Model for Excellence, on which the Ludwig Erhard Prize’s evaluation system is based, has been implemented worldwide by the HARTING Technology Group since 1999 through the “HARTING Way”. This approach aims to achieve and continually develop high-quality processes throughout the entire company by systematic change and improvement. This award underlines the fact that the Technology Group is firmly on the right track thanks to the “HARTING Way”.
